The Purchase of an Interest in Glaziers’ Hall

The Glass Sellers Company was first approached by the Glaziers on 16.12.1982. On 7.7.1983 The Livery agreed to acquire one “A” Non-Voting share in Glaziers’ Hall Ltd. This gave the Company the right to have one day at the Hall in any one year for 75 years.

The interpretation of one day is a Luncheon and a Dinner, which need not be on the same day. The purchase price of £7,500 was raised by the issue of £50 shares to members of the Livery, who were in effect giving interest free loans over 7 years. The cost is being amortised in the Glass Sellers Accounts at £100 p.a.over 75 years.
