The Glass Sellers Royal Air Force Tankard
The Prime Warden of the Company, Mr John H Poulten, proposed 21.9.2017 that, as the Glass Sellers maintained associations with both the Army and the Navy, and indeed also presented annual awards for excellence to members of those two services, the Company should also support the Royal Air Force.
The proposal was that an association be formed with RAF Leeming in North Yorkshire and this was confirmed at the Court Meeting held on Tuesday 12th December. The Company Charity also agreed to sponsor the award of an annual tankard to the member of RAF Leeming who had given outstanding service over and above their normal duties.
Wing Commander Andrew Coe BSc (Hons) MA. from RAF Leeming was the guest speaker at the next Court Dinner held at Fishmongers’ Hall on Tuesday 13th March 2018, when the first award was made. This also celebrated the Centenary of the RAF.
